The Wharf District Revitalization
|
The Wharf District has become one of the best portals to the Caperton Trail. What was once an old warehouse district, is now a revitalized growing commercial and residential center. Located next to the Monongahela River an the Caperton Trail, the Wharf District area is growing rapidly. Public and private investments have combined to include street and trail improvements, restaurants, retail, professional services offices, and high-end loft apartments.

With the help of a Federal Transportation Enhancement grant, the City of Morgantown is improving
Clay Street in the Wharf District. Because of the historical district and that
Clay Street was a cobblestone street for more than one hundred years, the City
of Morgantown wanted to capture the history of the street in the new streetscape.
