Urban Deer Hunt
The Morgantown City Council has approved the use of a 2011 Urban Deer Hunt, scheduled for September 17 to December 31, to reduce the deer population in and around the community after the Urban Deer Committee explored alternatives, made recommendations to City Council, and completed an aerial deer count. The following resources are provided to make sure residents are aware of all aspects of the urban deer hunt.
. Hunters must have valid WV Hunting license and follow the State game hunting laws.
- All hunters participating in the Morgantown Urban Deer Archery Hunt will remain at his/her designated location approved by the City, utilizing a tree stand.
- Archery equipment will not be used moving to and from designated location.
- Hunters will not be traveling across any property not approved and authorized by the City and property owner.
- Each hunter is only allowed to bag 2 deer throughout the Morgantown Urban Deer season.
When: September 17, 2011 to December 31, 2011
Hunting can not occur between ˝ hour after sunset and ˝ hour before sunrise.
Where:Designated locations approved by City Manager.

Rules and Regulations of Hunters in Urban Deer Hunt
Many residents have discussed the impact of a large deer population on planting gardens and flowers on their property. The following alternative resources are provided in an effort to reduce the impact of deer on plants.
