There were no minutes to present
at meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Matthew Cross of 524 Milford Street
spoke about speeding in neighborhood.
Chief Scott of the Morgantown
Police Department spoke on speeding and citations within the city limits.
BICYCLE BOARD:
Frank G. recommended Jacob Brown
to the Bicycle Board. Betty Mclain moved to appoint Jacob Brown to Bicycle Board. Peter Schuster seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Frank G. reviewed Bicycle Board
report for Traffic Commission. Focusing on four points: Education, Enforcement, Encouragement and
Engineering.
Pedestrian Safety Board:
Angela Wiley of 17 Nordic Drive spoke for the Pedestrian
Safety Board. Angela stated the changes
to the Pedestrian Safety Board membership.
Paul Steel moved to appoint said changes to Pedestrian Safety Board
membership. Dennis
Bidwell seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Bill Reger-Nash gave update on
Pedestrian Safety Plan.
Traffic Calming Sub-Committee:
Roy
Nutter reviewed the Woodburn and Wiles Hill additions to
Traffic Calming Plan. Dennis Bidwell moved to approve Wiles Hill
Traffic Calming Plan. Betty McClain
seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Item #3 was moved to the May 2009 Traffic Commission
Agenda. Dennis moved to approve Woodburn
Traffic Calming Plan without Item #3(page 1), No right turn on red from Richwood Ave
Eastbound to Darst
Street. Items #2(page2) Nodified
T-Intersection, #4(page2) Sidewalk on Johnson
Ave. from Louise Ave to Charles Ave, #6(page 2) No left turn from Charles Ave
onto Willey Street, and #7 Replace “Do Not Enter” signage at Willey Street onto
Monongalia Ave. Paul seconded the
motion. Motion passed unanimously. Item
#2 was moved to the May 2009 Traffic Commission agenda, item #4 was moved to
the Pedestrian Safety Board, item #6 was moved to the May 2009 Traffic
Commission Agenda and Item #7 was sent to the Public Works Department.

and Overdale and Arch: Dennis Bidwell moved to table issue. Paul Steel seconded
motion. Motion passed unanimously.

– Dennis moved to table issue. Peter seconded motion. Motion passed unanimously.
COMMISSION COMMENTS:

Street and Junior Avenue traffic Study results.
Don Spencer reported on traffic
calming issues; speed humps do not need to have signs at every speed hump.
