BICYCLE BOARD:
Frank Gmeindl gave the Bicycle
Board Report. Frank Gmeindl brought up
the issue with MUB closing the rail trail for construction. He spoke of ways to
work with the MUB to have detours, or doing smaller sections if possible. He also spoke of ways the City of Morgantown might be able
to prepare the residents for this Rail Trail closure by installing the “Share
the Road” and “Bike Route”
signage on Don Knotts
Blvd and University
Ave and Install a bike lane going up the hill on
Mon Blvd between Eighth Street
and Evansdale Drive. Don Spencer moved to recommend City of
Morgantown request DOH implement the signage on Don Knotts
Blvd and University Ave, and install the
Bike lane on Mon Blvd. Peter Schuster
seconded motion. Motion passes
unanimously. Ken Martis will represent Traffic Commission at meeting with
MUB for closure of Rail Trail.

Bidwell moved to bring Alma and Overdale
and Arch and Overdale off the table. Paul Steel seconded motion. Motion passed
unanimously. Damien Davis reviewed the report. Damien Davis recommended against putting Stop Signs
at these intersections. Based on the
traffic study and further field research he concluded there was no need for the
Stop Signs. Paul Steel moved to accept Damien Davis’s recommendation of not putting Stop
Signs at these intersections. Tony Barill seconded motion.
Motion passed unanimously.

introduced himself. Jenny Saline, 1224 Fairlawns, Submitted request for crosswalks on Parkview and
Laurel.
