TRAFFIC COMMISSION MEETING

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2008

Voting Members Present: Don Spencer, Paul Steel, Roy Nutter, Chris Gluck, Betty McClain, Dennis Bidwell, Tony Barill

Non-Voting Members Present: Terry Hough, Lt. Mike Lantz

Members Absent: Peter Schuster, Dave Purkey, Ken Martis, Graham Kenneweg

MATTER OF BUSINESS:

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Roy Nutter.

Minutes were approved from June, 2008 meeting.

BICYCLE BOARD:

No Report

Pedestrian Safety Board:

Board will continue to work on plan

Traffic Calming Sub-Committee:

Roy Nutter gave presentation on South Park recommendations.  Engineering is to review South Park Traffic Calming

Monthly Updates:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Willowdale Road:

Dr. Ron Eck is to review information and advise Traffic Commission on further action.

Narrow Streets:

Dennis Bidwell moved to table until further information from Fire Department is received, Betty McClain seconded the motion, Motion passed unanimously.

Euclid and Cedar:

Carter Daniels, 428 Cedar Street, spoke on behalf of his requests.  1) The four way stop requested at Euclid and Cedar was denied.  2) Betty McClain moved to put Stop Bars at the intersection of Euclid and Cedar. Dennis Bidwell seconded the Motion.  Motion passed unanimously.  3) Paul Steel moved to table crosswalks at Euclid and Cedar until Pedestrian Board came up with a Plan for entire area.  Betty McClain seconded the motion.  Motion passed unanimously. 

Cedar and Wilson:

 Tabled to Pedestrian Board.

NEW BUSINESS:

Resolution:

Dennis moved to send resolution to City Council.  Paul seconded motion.  Motion passed unanimously.
