I'm about to leave Morgantown after having spent three and a half month in different fields of the community as part of CIP West-Virginia. I do not want to tell a long story about my most enyoyable experiences but I would like to say that I met the most open and friendly people here. I really like it here in morgantown.Exspeially the whole town.I moved here from Thailand.(you might not know where it is)Well I've been here 3 years,it's not much,but I don't want to move back.The schools are great,I go to Woodburn Elementary an my sister go to South Middle School.I never want to move back because it's great here, but my father's back in Thailand. |

Is it really true this was Don Knotts's hometown at one time? I also heard they named a street after him. I heard that today on the biography channel about him. I am interested because he is one of my all time favorite actors along with Andy. I loved them in the first series with Ron Howard when they acted together in the town of Mayberry and still watch the reruns and love Matlock with both actors. I heard this was the town but not sure. Thanks. I am also from Pennsylvania originally and I am planning a trip there next July and may come by your town because it looks like a great town to visit.

Many years ago I served in the U.S. Navy with a fellow from Morgantown, West Virginia. His name is James O'Hare. He was a wonderful person to know. That was the first time I knew of Morgantown. I only recently learned Don Knotts was from Morgantown. |

I just watched a Bio about Don Knotts and found your site on the program.Of course I'm a big fan of Don Knotts and I did'nt know that he was from Morgantown.You should have his picture and name on your front page site.He is to me just as big as Elvis, I guess because he made me and many familys laugh more.You should be proud of Don.Is his mother buried in Morgantown?
