In 1977, I made a trip to Washington, D.C., and remember going thru Morgantown and absolutely falling in love with it. So picturesque, and friendly. It has grown over the years, I'm sure, but am thinking of making a move in the near future, and Morgantown is certainly still on my list of favorite places.
K. Cooper

I am looking at going to graduate school at WVU. The town looks great and I am really interested. My wife doesnt want to move far away from Utah but I think once she sees what Morgantown has to offer, she will change her mind. The city looks beautiful and a nice place to raise a family.

I was born and raised in Morgantown and miss it dearly. The photographs are a great way to see just how much the city has grown. My family still lives in Morgantown, but I don't get to visit as often as I'd like. This is a great way to reminisce and stifle the "homesick" pangs!!
C. Chappell
San Francisco, CA
My mom, Myrtle. Furman, was born and raised in Morgantown. She now is in Grandview Manor Care Ctr. in Franklin, NC. I know she'd loved to hear from friends and relatives from her old home. She left Morgantown at the end of WWII. I know it's changed, but it's still pretty nice. Many of her siblings worked in a glass factory there. I have a vague memory of a ferry that took cars across the river in the early 1950s
L. Black

Rode the trails last year and hope to be back in 2004 to do it again.

I was in town visiting my father last week and continue to be impressed with the growth and direction that the city is taking. Since I left in 1979, I only get back one or two times a year for visits. Every time, there are new improvements to see. Keep up the great work.

In having done extensive genealogical research, the Zaquill Morgan you mention on your website is a direct ancestor of mine... He is the son of Capt. Morgan Morgan and I understand the Morgan family was one of the first to settle in the area. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me! Anyway I look forward to one day visiting Morgantown. Thanks! I would love to call Morgantown my new home!!

I have been living in Morgantown since 1976 when my father accepted a job at the School of Engineering. I was 6 when we moved here and have never wanted to leave. Being a part of this community for so many years now, and watching all of it's growth makes me proud to say that I am a Mountaineer. I now have three sons of my own and could not think of a better place to raise them. With all of the different cultures here, my children and have grown up with no prejudices or any hints of racism. They love all people and treat everyone with the same respect that they would like to receive. Thank you Morgantown for making it so easy to provide a good life for my children....there is nowhere else I could ever want to call home.

I was born in West Virginia, and I am proud of my Mountaineer heritage. But I now live in southern Illinois. My wife and I wil be touring my old home in southern West Virginia next month, and, as a side trip, we plan to visit Mount Airy, North Carolina, the home of Andy Griffith, and the inspiration for Mayberrry. Now Don Knotts was from Morgantown, and well, I was sort of hoping for a landmark from Morgantown, proclaiming it to be the home of Don Knotts. Many a fan would love to see his old hangouts as well. Maybe you could build up the idea that Morgantown was his home, and maybe offer a guide to where he lived and such.

How are you, I left Morgantown 2 years ago. Relocated to Norfolk/Va. Beach area. Here 5 cities 30 yrs ago Va. Beach/Norfolk/Chesapeake/Newport News they all became independent cities. Why can't it work there like here, a group of cities formed hampton roads and someday merge in to 1 city there, would look cool there.
M. McDonald
Morgantown, WV
Morgantown is a great place to live. I have lived here all my life(14 years) and I'd have to say it's the only place I want to live. We should break a world record or something though...one thats good...because some people don't even know we're a state![West Virginia] Anyways....that's all I'm going to say. Bye.

I lived in Columbus, Ohio for 10 years and Morgantown reminds me of Columbus back in the early 80's before to huge growth! It seems to me Morgantown is ready to explode with a similar growth. I visit Morgantown once a month for schooling and always enjoy the time there.
