Very nice city website. For the size of Morgantown it is a very nice city. Love the pictures of downtown and surrounding areas. Keep up the good work on keeping your city neat and clean...while keeping the historic look also.

I am coming down here in July with a freind and her parents. Your town sounds very quaint and small. It will be interesting to see how the other half of the United States lives.

I was surfing the internet for a site that would tell me about my all-time favorite actor, Don Knotts. It led me to Morgantown. Interestingly, West Virginia is my favorite state. I spent 11 years (to June 1998) traveling all over the US as a photographer/writer and in all my travels I've loved West Virginia for the way the people I met reached out and embraced me. But I did not get to see much of WV, only around Charlotte. I got a perfect photo of an Allegheny Moon one day as I entered West Virginia's Allegheny Highlands about 5pm as the sun was just dropping. Amazing. Blue mist hanging low over the hills, sun beside the moon, moon deep red-orange, full and round. What a sight! I hope to visit your town in the coming year.

OK, I was estactic to see a Morgantown website. Back in August of 2000, my family was driving along the highway outside of your city when our transmission went out in our van, after being nearly hit by an on-coming semi-truck, we were towed back to your town and we ended up staying in your Holiday Inn. It was very nice. We still joke about our improptu vacation in Morgantown West Virginia. It's a memory I'm not soon to forget.

Born & raised in Morgantown. When I think of home I think of the late 1940's ,the 1950's & the 1960's. These were my childhood years, greatest years of my life. I still can fill the atmosphere & excitement of going to town on Saturday ,the friends gather @ Murrphy's 5 & dime store on High St. to talk & catch up on all the famly news. If it was miners payday I got to go to the Morgan theater to see a show. For just a Quater You got into the movies, a box of popcorn & coke. The May 30th boat races on the Mon. Then there was the Grandville Carnival week, Can't forget the Laborday Parade just before going back to school in the fall. Now it's Thanksgiving, the Christmas parade. This was the time of the year that Morgantown really came to life. There was the shopping in the snow, The Salvation Army ringing the bells, you knew it was Christmas again. The WVU football & basketball Sam Huff & Jerry "Cabincreek" West I like to refer to my memories of Morgantown as a! Norman Rockwell painting of my mine. I love the pride of "My Home, My People, My Heritage, Beautiful Morgantown" I'am homesick, I'am coming home

Proud parent of a WVU student. We enjoy the city when we visit. So sad to see the West Virginia Rifle Team cut along with the other sports. West Virginia without the WVU Rifle Team is like Mayberry without Barney!! Please reinstate the WVU Rifle Team!!

Just keeping up with the old hometown and finding out if all is well. I last visited 3 years ago when my oldest brother died and was still impressed with the people of Morgantown. They still are kind, gentle, and caring for each other and for outsiders too! Morgantown was in the 50's and each time we visit enjoyable! Thanks for the great memories.

Lived in Morgantown for about three years. Received my Master's Degree from WVU in 1996. WVU gave me a good education that I am very proud of. I work for Department of the Army, Operational Test Command at Ft Hood, TX. Though I was born and raised in Seattle, if I had a choice, I would return and settle in Morgantown. Morgantown is a beautiful city. I love the weather, people, and the beautiful scenery there. Probably will move back there when I retire. Better stop here. I think I'm about to cry!
