I think Morgantown is the most perfect place on earth. We have so much to offer, and the best thing about it is that most people don't even know how great it is. Morgantown is a wonderful place to grow up in, and it will always have my heart.

I have really enjoyed your web page. It feels like I've been there, and I'm proud that my Great Grandfather James Donaldson Guseman came from there. His father Godfrey and grandfather Joseph were also from there, as well as the Donaldsons,McShanes, and Carrolls. Being able to see where they lived was great.

lovely town, folks...
did you know one of joni mitchell's best early songs is called "morning morgantown" a nostalgic piece with a lovely melody, from her third album,
"ladies of the canyon"...
When morning comes to morgantown
The merchants roll their awnings down
The milk trucks make their morning rounds
In morning, Morgantown
We'll rise up early, with the sun
To ride the bus while everyone is yawning
And the day is young
In morning, Morgantown...

I have been working on my family tree 1600-2000.
My grandfather Sam ( WHITE )1910-1984.was born and raised right in Morgantown.Part of His family has been there for several generations and still are. Later he came to New York City in the 1930's. Lodi, is a small
town population of 24,000 and a part of Bergen county New Jersey population 884,118 ).Lodi was established in 1894 !Lodi had two tribes of native American Indians, in the town proper. One of our oldest buildings is a school house dated 1842.The town was updated in the 1970's.Presidents Roosevelt and Bush Sr have set foot on Main St. Yes, I was suprised to see that other people from Lodi, Rutherford and New York City were in the guest book. I look forward to making a visit to your town. Many thanks for this wonderful web page. It has let us view your town from our state of New Jersey. Jane and family ,suprise I found your town !!Keep in touch.

While I have no connections to WV, I have been to Morgantown many times on our way out to Wetzel County on the Ohio River. It is a great place to shop and get something to eat. We almost always pick up groceries there, and stop for gas. It's a great place to spend some time off the interstates. And, I love the little yellow cars on the monorail! Must be a great way to get around campus. Only noticed recently that Don Knotts was from Morgantown and there is a street named after him. Nice to know! Looks like a really nice place to live...

I was born and raised in Morgantown. I got married to a soldier and moved away 15 years ago to follow him around the world and back. My family still all lives there and we try to make it home when we can to visit but, I miss the mountains and my home! We some day hope to retire back there. Of all the places we have been and seen and I still want to come back to Morgantown. To bad there is no military installation close by or we could be there now.

I am originally from New Jersey, and my wife is from Kentucky, but we have lived in the Morgantown area for over 15 years, first as WVU students, then as working singles, and now as a very happily married couple. We love living here, being active members of Chestnut Ridge Community Church and true Mountaineer fans! We think Morgantown has a lot going for it.

My family and I had the pleasure to visit your beautiful town in November 2000. We spent 2 weeks visiting Morgantown and surrounding areas. I have a cousin that lives in Morgantown, her and I had corresponded since we were 15 years old but until last year had never met. It was a fantastic experience.

You need to but up more stores so there will be more people to come to this city to visit, and more police to patrol downtown at nighttime.
