Programs:

Adopt-a-Street Program
An aggressive program to adopt lengths of street within Morgantown to be cleaned by individuals, companies, or organizations. Signs are posted to proudly show who adopted the street. Groups and organizations are required to clean their street at least 4 times a year. Bags and orange vests will be supplied by the City of Morgantown. To adopt a street, please call the Beautification Commission's Coordinator, Donna Ford-Werntz at 304-293-5201

Tree Board
An active Tree Board has been established and now operates as a subcommittee of the Commission. City-wide tree issues include inventory, hazardous trees, and new planting initiatives. The Tree Board has been successful in obtaining grant funds from the West Virginia Division of Forestry for the tree inventory, planting, and replacements.


Proud of Our Town Award Program
This program is to acknowledge individuals and groups who have maintained public and / or private properties exceptionally well. Awards are given four times each year. Do you know someone that has done an outstanding job of beautifying their property ?

Frank Alderman and Dr. Christian McCarter of Med Express accepted the 2007 Proud of our Town award from Mayor Justice and Beautification Commission’s Sandy Poulson.
They were nominated by residents for their new buildings landscape on University Avenue along the riverfront.
