BEAUTIFICATION COMMISSION

MINUTES

March 23, 2005

Members Present: Bill MacDonald, Donna Ford-Werntz, Ralph LaRue, Marilyn Bowers, Sandy Poulson, Marchetta Maupin, Chuck Penn

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Bill MacDonald, Chairman.

1.         Sandy Poulson, new member representing the 7^th Ward, was introduced.

2.         The minutes from the last meeting were approved.

3.         Special Topics:

            A.        High Street Streetscape Improvement Plan

Changes to the Plan were recommended by the Tree Board. The recommended Chinese Elms be planted instead of the Bradford Pears that were suggested. Gingkos were recommended in the bump outs. The number of trees has been reduced from 18 to 13.

            B.        Annual Budget

                        Marchetta reported that the Beautification Commission was not given any money

                        in the next fiscal year. Bill reported that, as of 3/23/05, the Commission had

                        $56,000 in their account.

                        The Commission discussed possible expenditures. Ralph suggested looking into

                        the cost of a truck to be used by Marchetta.

                        The Commission suggested thinking of what sort of projects should be included

                        for the next fiscal budget.
